Hello, friends! I wanted to make a post to let you know what I did this weekend. September 23rd will be one year since my brother passed away. If you were here with me last year, then you may remember a few things about it.
To review, my brother Bryan was a local superhero known as the Cambria GreenMan. He catered to children and charity, and was often spotted at parades, games, and other events. He was a very popular figure in our little area, where nothing usually happens. Bryan's "secret identity" was revealed publicly after his passing, and he had had such a huge impact on the area that his viewing had over 260 guests on just the first day.
Shortly before Bryan passed, he had mentioned to my dad that he wanted to take his one man show farther and start some sort of non-profit charity. . .
In his honor, we just had the first Stay Green event on August 30th.
One of our event flyers.
Getting set up! We were lucky enough to be joined by the Hammer Brothers: www.youtube.com/user/BishNetwo…
I painted GreenMan on my sister's tattoo
My little sister did the streamers XD
A Team Green meeting
Tried to take a selfie and Paul got in the way. This is a metaphor for my life!
My cutie niece, Tianna
The other Hammer Brother!
We had music for the whole event! This particular band is Punk Fiction
It looks small in this pic, but we had at LEAST 75 people at any given time. It was very humbling.
Please admire this kid's costume. He was in both the costume contest and the design a hero drawing contest. His hero... "Vegeto"
TT showin' her GM swag. I want a cape, damn it!
Another costume hero! This is the mighty RED MAN. (He was so cute)
Do I even need to comment?
My mom and best friend chattin' it up. Everyone seemed to have a very good time.
Look at me giving orders like a pro. This ain't my first rodeo.
(that's my brother's dad I'm bossing around, too)
GreenMan had two big sayings: "Helping never hurts" and "Stay Green!"
As seen here, my little sister passed out ballons
Little Sister also repeated her performance of "Kryptonite", which was her first baton solo that she originally choreographed a few months ago in Bry's honor.
TIANNA KNOWS WHAT'S UP!
In the end, the first Stay Green was VERY SUCCESSFUL. When it came down to it, we made over $1,000.00 for charity! That money will be split between my brother's favorite charities, the Healing Patch and the MS Walk. Thank you for checking this out!
